About me

Hello! My name is Kristen Das and I am a Chicago based musical theatre performer. I recently graduated from the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music’s (CCM) BFA Musical Theatre program. Please feel free to click on any underlined content and discover the link to the website/ material I am referencing.

Since graduating Spring of 2025 I have participated in the development of many new works including

-a concert of Chalo! a new musical by Northwestern students about a queer desi girl in competitive soccer

-a reading of Lotus & Jasmine by NYU MFA students about two family's relationship to their nannies, one in Berlin and one in Hydrabaad

-a demo recording of the opening number of Seven Steps Around The Fire a new musical about a queer Indian-American woman who uses visions of her past lives to challenge her family's expectations of an arranged marriage

I was also in Diwali: Songs of Light & Joy at Provincetown Playhouse October 2025, a new song cycle with original music directed by Dev Janki. Shortly following that I was in The Rocky Horror Show at The Carnegie, KY starring Dusty Ray Bottoms from Rupaul's Drag Race season 10. After that project closed November 2025 I moved back to New York and I am currently auditioning while performing in cabarets, going to dance class and feeding myself artistically in the interim.

While in school some of my favorite credits have included Hand/ Old Hildegard in In The Green, Andrea Deveraux in Once On This Island, Tribe in Hair, Sam- U/S Madeline True in The Wild Party, Customer #1 in She Loves Me.

At CCM I was also lucky enough to also be involved in the student run theatre company; Mosaic Ensemble Theatre. As a first year I was #14 in their production of The Wolves by Sarah DeLappe and in my third year I was the Nurse/ Queen of Hearts in Alice By Heart.

In school I was involved in many special projects including Jam Band, started by Sarah Folsom and Keyona Willis in 2024 offering MT students a chance to perform a pop/rock material. In my senior year I did a mashup of two of my favorite songs; Valerie and You Go Down Smooth by Lake Street Dive. I was also involved in Kaleidoscope, a cabaret night featuring students of the global majority. Here’s a clip from my senior year performing a song from a new musical called Māyā (on the second slide).

While in Cincinnati I made sure to immerse myself in the thriving arts scene fully. Some of my past favorite Cincinnati/ KY credits include Pearl in The Spongebob Musical at TCT, Ensemble- U/S Magenta in The Rocky Horror Show at The Carnegie exercising my improv/ immersive theatre skills, and Moana Jr./ Princess & Frog at The Children’s Theater of Cincinnati where I was trained in puppeteering life sized human puppets, larger than life lava monsters and sea creatures and hand puppets like coconuts and waves. I also had the pleasure of being in a new musical called label•less in the summers of 2022 at The American Sign Museum and in 2023 at Cincinnati’s Playhouse in The Park in The Rouse Theater.

During my time in Cincinnati, I have explored my interest in creating theatre that sparks conversation about social/political activism in Label•Less, performing for young audiences with The Children’s Theatre Of Cincinnati, and modeling with companies like CONQUERing, The Crystal Bride, and Peaches Boutique. In addition to that, I have run the CCM musical theatre TikTok account (@ccm_musicaltheatre), created content to promote shows and grown the account, gaining thousands of followers.

I am excited to begin my journey post-grad and I want to continue to create art I am passionate about. Thank you for visiting my website and taking the time to learn more about me.

When not performing or rehearsing, I love mixology/ coming up with new drinks to try out on my friends, reading plays and new works, knitting/ crafting, watching SNL, playing pickleball, doing fun makeup, and practicing Pilates.
